Occupational Therapy In-home Assessment
Occupational Therapy In-home Assessments are conducted in the
client’s home to identify pre-injury Activities of Daily Living
(ADL) including personal care, housekeeping, caregiving, home
maintenance, transportation and community management. An
Occupational Therapist then evaluates the client’s ability to
perform the above ADL’s by having the client demonstrate
activities to determine whether they are able to meet the
required functions.
From this comprehensive evaluation, the evaluator is able to
identify and recommend strategies for safety concerns, home
lay-out modifications, assistive devices or homemaking
assistance. The Occupational Therapist is also able to complete
a Form (1) for Attendant Care.
